The first photos of the Bell P-59A Airacomet - America's first jet

While 66 of the Bell P-59A Airacomet were built, with the first flight in 1941, none of them seen combat. The jet engine for the first one - Power Jets W.1,  was donated by the British.  Below are the first images of the P-59A version (20 built) also the only one to bear the red-outlined national markings, the markings were used only during 1943.
