This beautiful lakeside house belonged to Mr. Paul S. Deiber from Seattle. Private side is nearly all glass, it overlooks beautiful lawn and garden. House is practical, simple post-and-beam construction, L shaped with an overall size of 41x63 foot.
Striking entrance court greets you as you leave car on approach side. Itțs colorful, elegant - and does away with ordinary blank concrete walkway from carport to house. Native rocks, moss, ferns and driftwood surround miniature pool. Cedar rounds set in pebbles simulate stepping stones across the court. Decorative screen shields court from house nextdoor. Overhead grid breaks up strong sunlight, creates interesting shadow patterns on the ground.
This glass wall offers an amazing panorama over lake Washington. Central sliding doors provide access to sheltered terrace and outdoor fun. Block fireplace serves family room here: it also opens to living room opposite. Snack counter separates kitchen, family room.
