The General Electric NHX-10G refrigerator with handsfree magnetic doors
In june 1950 General Electric presented the first refrigerator with magnetic doors. GE developed alnico magnets that are placed end-to-end inside the Koroseal gasket. Another great feature was the handsfree cooler door. The door can be opened and closed by stepping on a special pedal. The upperside of the refrigerator has the freezer.
The ice cube tray has a special device that lets you select the number of cubes you want to take out. The vegetables drawers glided on small rollers and has a safety stop to prevent them from rolling out of the fridge.
