The outstanding bird-cage house. A mid-century modern jewel on Biscayne Isle in Miami

In 1950 an outstanding mid-century modern house was finished on Biscayne Isle in Miami. Two thirds of the building is outdoors, walled and partly roofed by plastic screening on a timber frame. Here the architect placed a swimming pool and an upper living deck with a Bucida tree as a centerpiece. On the lower floor was the conventional living area with detachable wall panels.

The architect is Igor Polevitzky from Miami, and the owner was a retired engineer, Michael Heller.
