Fawcett Homes: The Tennessee | Small House Planning Bureau design
YOU CAN BUILD THIS HOUSE in easy stages. Your basic design-the first stage can consist of the living room, dining room, kitchen, one bedroom and bathroom. Later, as your family grows or budget permits, you can make a fourteen foot addition on one side that will include two more bedrooms. Still later, you can add a garage on the opposite side.
In this way, a house that starts out as 35 feet wide can be finished to a width of 62 feet. All additions could be made at low cost. If you wish to start small, however, make sure that your lot is wide enough for future expansion.
There are few frills here. The simple rectangular design, unbroken roof line, and use of low-cost materials inside and out all go easy on tight budgets. About the only luxurious touch is the stone face.
