Many cottages are built on hill sides, overlooking a river or lake or on a mountain or hill side for a view. With sloping land, two levels make great sense and are most attractive. The best division is to have the sleeping area higher and the living area lower. These are excellent samples of split living homes. Porches are optional as illustrated. These can be easily screened against flies if necessary or glassed in for fall and winter use as extra rooms.
