Plan 2449

A sense of grandeur, subtly stated in modern terms, is what architect Edward Tyler offers in this impressive plan. Long and low, the brick facade has a horizontal sweep that is broken by high privacy windows, supporting columns and the romantic touch of a lacy masonry "shield." Recessed in an open court, the entry boasts an entire wall of glass; reception hall behind it is well illuminated by a pattern of plastic domes. For the activity areas at the rear there is complete privacy: large glass areas open onto terrace and covered porch. Kitchen-service area has two entries. 2,252 sq. ft.
