1968 TV Guide - East New England - Mission Impossible - study in black and white.

Color television is here to stay, but to be effective it doesn't always have to be colorful. Witness the one permanent set for Mission: Impossible, an apartment created to reflect the personality of Peter Graves, the show's top agent, and used as the opening scene in most episodes. It's all black and white, even down to the clothes people wear because, says Bruce Geller, executive producer, "There's nothing quite as arresting in color as black and white. It brings out the color in the faces and it's a contrast. Then when you cut to something in color, the effect is startling." If you don't have a color set, it looks just as black and white as everything else. The cast, left to right, are Greg Morris, Barbara Bain, Peter Lupus, Martin Landau and Graves.
