1955 - an Union Oil Company gas tank in Los Angeles is turned into a huge Jack-O'-Lantern

 


Most of the year, this huge gas tank in Los Angeles is painted a sensible white. But for Halloween the Union Oil Company gives it an orange coat, 18-foot eyes and a 73.foot mouth to confront passing motorists on U.S. Highway 101 with the world's biggest jack-o'-lantern.
