The 1947 "Vacationer" a concept amphibious-motorhome designed by Robert Zeidman

In 1947, the great industrial designer Robert Zeidman created the "Vacationer", a concept amphibious-motorhome. While it never went further than a scale model, this is still a fantastic novelty from the atom age.

The motorhome was supposed to reach 55 mph on the highway and 10 to 12 knots afloat, with the help of propellers installed in twin tunnels. The vehicle would have been 34-foot long, with 6 beds, kitchen, dining-living with built-in TV set, showers, chemical toilet, bar, bookcase, built-in kitchen appliances.
