There's lots of room, convenience and living in this family kitchen. To add interest to the space they needed, the Paul McGees of Minneapolis built a five-level house - with the kitchen on fourth level in the treetops. Entry is on third (street) level. Fifth level living room opens to kitchen so dinner guests can visit with Mrs. McGee when she tends to last minute jobs.
Open beam ceiling extends the visual space of this popular, busy family kitchen. It has a spacious and wll-planned work center, an indoor barbecue grill, a deck for outdoor barbecues and lazy bird watching, to walls of winsows to bring the outside in, a large dining table and comfortable chairs.
Extended roof provides some protection in case of a sudden shower. Since this treetop deck is adjacent to kitchen, meals outdoors are easy to handle and enjoyable.
Note interesting efect created by open-beam, pitched ceiling and expanse of windows.
