A bold purple living room from 1957. Living room plans provided!

In 1957 Robert J. Cronley of Cincinnati decided to renovate his living room and paint it into a bold purple color. Brilliant bursts of color are welcomed by plain walls of subdued purple, soft neutral expanses of draperies and carpet. Sreen's plaid note is repeated by bench and toss cushions. Pleated draw draperies make graceful wall, hide awkward windows and unused front door left over from before renovation.

Color changes in chairs were simple and inexpesive: denim covers on sofa and easy chairs, felt glued to plywood chair. Antique bench and former dining table make unusual desk-chair combination; the wall combines accessories deftly.
