An interesting house from 1951. Plans provided

Along the Gulf Coast, where Sarasota and the Siegrist house are located, snow is unknown. If the temperature reaches 32 degrees, it's headline news. So heat control is the most important need in residential architecture.

Architects Twitchell and Rudolph use huge expanses of glass to let in ocean and bay views, sweeping overhangs to keep the high sun off glass and high sloping ceilings to let warm air rise and drift outdoors. The few partitions necessary for privacy don't obstruct the flow of air through the house.
