We have for you an easy recipe from september 1950 by Birds Eye.
10 ounces french style green beans
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. marjoram
2 tomatoes, sliced and broiled
garlic croutons
2 slices bacon, fried until crisp
chopped parsley
Cook the french style green beans, drain, add butter, marjoram. Arrange on serving platter with broiled tomato slices and croutons. Garnish tomatoes with pieses of bacon and chopped parsley.
Garlic croutons:
Melt 2 tbsp. butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Add 1 clove garlic, crushed and let stand 1/2 hour. Then place over low heat untill butter is melted again. Remove garlic. Spread 1 1/2 cups 1/2 inch bread cubes over baking sheet. Sprinkle with melted butter. Bake in moderate oven (350F) for 10 minutes or until golden brown, turning once or twice.
