Surprise-surprise supper recipe by Birds Eye

We present you this interesting recipe by Birds Eye, dating from april 1950. For this surprise-surprise supper you need:

1 box of green beans 

2 cups mix of vegetable liquid and chicken broth

1 1/2 cup rice

2 tbsp. finely chopped onion

1 cup cooked ham cut in strips

6 tbsp. butter

2 tbsp. flour

dash of pepper

1 tsp. curry powder



Cook beans, when done drain, reserving the liquid; add chicken broth enough to fill 2 cups. Preaper rice, saute onion and gham strips in 4 tbsp. of butter. Add flour, belnd.

Add vegetable liquid and chicken broth mix gradually, cook until thickened,stirring constantly. Add cooked green beans and heat. Serve on hot roce seasoned with remaining butter, pepper and curry powder.
