Homes Beautiful Ohio – plan CY511

The design relies on striking, exposed timber framing painted a vibrant, retro coral-orange that contrasts beautifully against the dark, dramatic pitch of the roofline. The structural geometry is both functional and artistic, extending outward to support expansive outdoor living spaces.

The true heart of this home is its magnificent masonry fireplace. Crafted from rugged, native fieldstone, the massive chimney anchors the entire left side of the structure, providing a cozy, timeless focal point that promises warmth after a long day of outdoor adventure.

Flanking the stone fireplace, expansive sliding glass doors open seamlessly to a sweeping, wrap-around wooden deck. This feature perfectly captures the post-war American desire for indoor-outdoor fluidity, turning nature into a living canvas. Above, the clever architectural engineering truly shines: the top-deck bedrooms feature an integrated, sheltered balcony. Protected by the deep overhang of the main roof, this private upper deck allows inhabitants to step outside and enjoy fresh air or a morning coffee, completely shielded from the elements.
