This two-story home has a rambling appearance which makes for a most pleasing exterior. Wood shakes are used for the major portion with brick at the loggia end for contrast. The windows all have a friendly, welcoming look to them and the sheltered front door is most attractive, too. From the foyer every part of the house is quite easily accessible — the daytime and entertaining areas are off to the right and the sleeping areas are off to the left. Designed and located exclusively for formal entertaining, the living room also has an open beam cathedral ceiling. Both living room and dining room have wide windows overlooking the loggia. The family room, of course, is going to be used as in informal central gathering place; since it has a fireplace and sliding glass doors opening to the rear it will prove to be a comfortable room to use all through the year.
The dinette has a pantry closet and a bay window, with a serving bar on the kitchen side and this will be another room the whole family will enjoy. Every bit of the kitchen is utilized to create an easy workroom where no steps or time are wasted. Close by there’s a laundry room, with a rear entrance, storage closet and door to the garage. Note that at the rear of the garage there is a very large and convenient storage area. A choice of plans is offered for the sleeping area on the first floor. The basic plan includes two family bedrooms at the front, each with ample window and closet space, three hall closets and a family bath with a double vanity sink. In this plan, the master bedroom has three windows, a walk-in closet and a private bath with enclosed shower. In the alternate plan, also on the blueprints, one bedroom is eliminated and the space is used to enlarge the master bedroom and give it a fully equipped dressing room at one end. There are two big storage areas on the second floor and, if you wish, two big bedrooms, three closets and a third bath.
