All-America Homes 1959 - plan #120

The broad gable has found its way back into favor as the facade of a home even though this plan can be easily made to turn its low wall to the street. It looks good either way.

Walls are of wide boards and battens except for the brick walls of the garage, chimney and plant wall beneath the living room windows.

The large sketch shows a view from the hall through the living and dining rooms. The latter room is three steps below the living room, as shown in the small sketch where cabinets are facing the din- ing room.

Another sketch shows the 13- foot mantel, and another shows the hall-den partition. The cabinet forms a ledge in the hall but opens on the den side of wall. There is a louvered glass enclosure over the cabinet.

This structure is 53 feet wide. 60 feet deep, and covers 1420 square feet, excluding the porch and garage. The working plans call for a part basement, and an alternate suggestion for building without a basement is included.
