Lenka Peterson, star of the TV Show "Bonino" turns fashion model | TV Guide Chicago, 4-10 December 1953

THE "at home" season is upon us and for entertaining at home, for watching television, the women who make the news in TV like casual clothes with an elegant air.

Lenka Peterson, who plays Doris, Ezio Pinza's daughter on the Bonino show, entertains a good deal off stage. She is the wife of a TV director and the mother of two children. "When we aren't working, we like to stay home," Lenka says. "And I think a woman should look prettiest when she's just relaxing."

When buying her "at home" wardrobe, Lenka keeps one important point in mind. "I buy clothes that contrast with my surroundings. Our walls are pale green and I'm a pale blonde. I try to find intense colors that make me stand out."

With two small youngsters and an acting job, she doesn't have time to spend shopping or keeping an enormous wardrobe in order. Whatever she buys has to have unlimited possibilities for wear.

Lenka models a red jet embroidered skirt that can be worn with a variety of blouses. Combined with this black velvet top that is held together with little string straps, the ensemble is festive. Worn with a simple black sweater, it is just right for those less formal moments in the life of a busy mother, wife and TV actress.

She also recommends a charcoal gray wool skirt and blouse banded with striped orange and yellow grosgrain ribbon. The fabric lends an informal note and the skirt can be mixed with any number of colorful tops. With an orange blouse, the out- fit is perfect for marketing or TV rehearsal. The matching top, which can also be worn strapless, turns this into a festive outfit.
