Study in triangles - Convair Deltawing 7002 | Aviation Week, March 14, 1949

This vertical view of the Convair Deltawing Model 7002 dramatizes its unique configuration. Sweepback of the wing's leading edge to 60 deg. is calculated to delay supersonic speed drag, but offers stability difficulties at low speed. The all- metal Model 7002, powered by an Allison J-33 turbojet engine, will be used only for low-speed (400-450 mph.) stability tests.
