Fashioned just for you - Bea Johnson : telecasts over KMBC-TV | TV Guide Chicago, April 23-29 1955

When you are planning your new season's clothes, what should you look at first? Yourself! Your figure! Then buy only the fashions that are becoming. Don't follow the herd. Don't invest in a fashion just because it may look well on one of your friends. Study the new fashions, yes. Try on the H- line. The S-line. The L-line. The A- line. Then buy the one suited to you.
Have you ever shopped for a gray suit and been told, "They aren't wearing gray this season"? Who is this mythical they? . . . . You are "they." And I am "they." And if we "theys" want a gray suit-let's have one-even if it does mean you may stand out in a crowd.
I started working with Hollywood designers in the days of black-and white movies. When Adrian showed me the M-G-M wardrobes, I noticed all of Hedy Lamarr's clothes were in her preferred wine, black and silver.
"But the movies aren't in color," I protested. "No one knows what colors she's wearing!"
"The world doesn't know," Adrian answered, "but Miss Lamarr does. She feels more beautiful in wine, black and silver. So she is more beautiful."
There is a prodigious variety in colors and fashions this spring. Choose those that make you feel more beautiful-so you will be more beautiful.
