Plan S 100

The center entrance of this basementless ranch home routes traffic to the three major areas of the house-the work area, the sleeping area, and the living area. The general rectangular shape of this design makes it economical to build. The high windows of the front and side assure privacy from passers-by. The windows across the rear, however, are expansive and provide full view of the terrace and garden areas. The china, with planting box above, is a most practical and attractive room divider. The close-up of the front entrance shows the tremendous interest resulting from good window treatment and effective use of contrasting exterior materials. The brick grille, with its copper hood to carry off odors, captures the quaintness of the older days.
