This graceful house stretches your living space by making the most of the porch and the large basement. Outdoor living areas porch and deck and basement hobby room serve as family gathering spots. Two floor-to-ceiling windows brighten the living room. The kitchen and two baths stand back to back, a standard economy.

From front, the house shows a simple design, with uncluttered use of redwood, glass, and concrete blocks. The sweeping roof extends out to cover the carport and porch. A door opens from living room to porch. The sheltered front entrance is located in the carport, and opens to living and dining rooms. The open stairway to the basement hobby room is in the living room, right inside the front entrance.
This wall of concrete blocks and glass makes practical, good-looking use of post-and-beam construction. Beams extend to support a roof overhang that shades kitchen and bedroom windows. A bedroom door opens onto the deck, and a path connects the deck to front entrance. Deck is hidden from the street by carport, giving you privacy for family activities.
