Two 1955-1956 kitchens that Youngstown designed for Pease Homes

Pease Home kitchens now offer you a choice of natural birch finish hardwood cabinets ( as standard ), or enameled steel cabinets ( as optional ), with a continuous Formica top, as part of the base price of each home. You are actually getting a deluxe, space designed kitchen that exceeds FHA and VA requirements at no extra charge. There are more wall and base cabinets per kitchen than ever before, more unbroken worktop space, and the chance to choose some optional kitchen equipment of Tappan built-in oven and range, Waste-King food disposer, and exhaust vent fans, if desired. Each Pease Home kitchen has been carefully planned to provide maximum cabinet area and drawer space per foot of available wall space. Naturally, the floor plan governs the arrangement of cabinets in each home. On the individual plans purchased in advance of construction for $10, kitchens are illustrated in detail, and include diagrams of alternate kitchen arrangements for Tappan built-in range and oven.

If it's the warmth and beautiful grain of furniture-finished natural wood to add color to your kitchen, then choose natural birch finish cabinets. The doors of these popular cabinets are faced entirely in selected kiln dried birch, while the drawer fronts, ends, etc. are made of other selected hardwoods. Each cabinet is completely and uniformly factory finished in a rich birch color. Doors have brushed bronze handles, and contoured drawer fronts glide out at the touch of a finger at any point along the recessed bottom edge. Free sliding, center guided drawers lock when fully opened to keep them from falling out. Corner base units have rotary shelves. The recessed toe strip on the base cabinets is finished in dark brown to match the cabinet styling. Each cabinet is individually carton packed and arrives assembled and ready for installation.

Those selecting the optional steel cabinets will receive Youngstown Kitchens' enameled wall and base units in a choice of white, dawn yellow, Meridian blue, or sunset copper. These cabinets are precision built with die-made construction eliminating sharp corners, and finished with a Hi-bake enamel that forms the smoothest surface for easiest upkeep. Insulated doors close quietly, drawers slide smoothly and lock so they can't be pulled out and upset, and the chrome hardware stays bright and shiny. Corner base units have rotary shelves. All cabinets are individually carton packed.

All cabinet counter tops for Pease Homes are custom built of super smooth Formica in a wide choice of 8 patterns and 66 colors listed on page 68. Tops include a porcelain enameled double bowl sink, chrome mixing faucet, vegetable spray, 4" high Formica backsplash and edge binding of 1 1/2" stainless steel. Alternate counter tops of Formica with roll-formed front edge and coved 4" backsplash are available in colors. A Waste-King food disposer may be installed in either bowl of the sink.
