1956 - Easter decorations at the Countru Club Plaza Mall in Kansas City.
The gaily painted animals set up in the parking space of the Country Club Plaza, a shopping center in Kansas City. Mo., were put there to give parents a chance to photograph their children in their Eisler clothes. But the youngsters. enchanted with the animals, have turned the place into their personal playground, perching happily in the kangaroo's pouch, swinging acrobatically from the pelican's neck. The parents always have trouble getting their offspring off the animals to go home. The shopping center has some troubles all its own. The pink electric light bulbs that make the Easter rabbit's eyes flash disappear regularly and some pranksters have even swiped one of the live fish that swim in the pelican's pouch.
