Joan Collins is beyond beautiful in "The girl in the red velvet swing" (1955)
Out of the most sensationally headlined murder case of our times, 20th Century Fox has shaped a colorful movie, The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing. The girl is Evelyn Nesbit who in 1901 was the mistress of the great architect Stanford White and used to ride a swing in his New York studio. Then she mar. ried rich, erratic Harry K. Thaw who in 1906, brooding over her affair, shot White dead in the roof restaurant of Madison Square Garden.
