In 1952 comedian Jackie Gleason set a TV mark by lining up 16 chorus girls in one show. In 1953, punchdrunk with pulchritude, Gleason offers his usual 16 dancers, plus 16 show girls, plus seven stately sirens who pose in frames - making a grand total of 39 beauties, which no other TV show rivals. Gleason picks girls for "interesting cheekbones and slinky eyes". Gleason's main worry, he says, is to think of excuses to get even more beautiful girls into his show (CBS-TV, Saturdays).
