The opening of the Hollywood Terminal Building, Los Angeles

In 1925, Mr. Charles E. Toberman, Texas born and moved to L.A. in 1902, where he became a construction magnate, started work on a unique storage building. The $2.000.000, 14 stories structure was finished in 1926 under the name of Hollywood Terminal Building.  This lovely spanish revival structure at the corner of  Highland Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard had a commercial ground floor, with a lounge on the top floor (with a famous/infamous vice raid taking place here during the prohibition) and two huge antennas.

The building was design by Morgan, Walls & Clements and it was built of monolitic concrete and finished in light grey portland cement stucco.
