Manhattan Municipal Building - iconic New York skyscraper

Between 1890s and 1900s an itneresting movement started in Northern America, known as the City Beautiful movement, the movement's purpose was to start building grand structures to give personality and old Europe touch to the big american urban centers. One of the last buildings representing this movement is the majestic Manhattan Municipal Building. The construction for this beautiful beaux-arts skyscraper started in 1909 and was finished in 1913, while the official opening took place in 1914. 

It was designed by William M. Kendall of  McKim, Mead & White Office and built by Thompson-Starrett Co.
