The name Youngstown is synonymous with funny kitchen advertisments and cool kitchen designs. The company was founded in 1937 in Salem, Ohio; after the merging of two companies:  Kitterage, Clark and Company  (founded in 1872 and purchased by W. H. Mullins Company in 1882) and Youngstown Iron and Steel Roofing Company (founded in 1894, purchased by Sharon Steel Hoop Company in 1917 and rebranded as Youngstown Pressed Steel Company).
