The Mentor and The Malcom

Today I'm starting what I hope to be an exciting series dedicated to the prefab Capp-Homes of the 1960. We are going to take a look a the house designs while providing detailed images of the floor plans. 

By 1960, an amazing number of 50.000 americans from Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, owned a Capp-Home.


The Mentor. Four bedrooms and 2 full baths are provided in this handsome home with stylish windows and flared gables. Removable double-hung windows under front gable are diamond-light unites framed in fancy scroll trim.

Windows on front of living room make up a divided-light panorama with removable double-hung sidelights.

Master bedroom has bath and Mr. & Mrs. wardrobe closets with bypass sliding doors. Accordofold door in front closet. Beautiful kitchen has roomy dining area. Full overhang front and rear.

The Malcom. This hip-roofed, L-shaped home has 3 bedrooms and an ample living room with dining area. Kitchen has sliding door. Master bedroom has Mr. & Mrs. wardrobe closets with bypassing sliding doors.

Removable slideby windows in every room. Half bath at rear entrance with full bath off central hall. Wide eaves.

Front porch sheltered by overhang of roof. Accordofold door in clothes closet in foyer.
