The Drexel Furniture Company, started with a small factory in the year 1903. After WW2 the company started to expand acquiring other furniture factories, becoming an important player in this industrial sector. In 1968 it was sold to U.S. Plywood-Champion Papers and in 1971 to Dominick International Corporation. By the late 80s it became the largest U.S. furniture manufacturer. The brand still exists today.
