A compact 1960 home from Michigan

White panels are asbestos cement; they need no maintenance. Generous overhang protects the large windows in winter and summer. The rear of this house opens to a secluded yard - so the entire wall can be glass. Special clips and seaer make it possible for the glass to go around corners. There's a small reflecting pool at the base of the stone wall.

This impressive, welcoming entry is virtually free of maintenance. The field-stone wall continues right on into the house and becomes hall-living room divider. The pebbled concrete walk also continues into entryway - its rugged surface ignores slush and spring mud.

The large window-wall in the living offers great views towards the woods. The oak parquet floor matches the large wall.

Heart of this home is the big family room. It can be used for dining and informal activities all through the day and evening. TV at left is part of a hi-fi music wall.
