A majestic lakeside house

This lovely property from Lamont, Michigan was built in 1851 and was bought and renovated in 1951 by Dr. and Mrs. William Bettison.

The wise use of soft green for the woodwork and walls helps to unify the odd shaped living room. You don't notice the overabundance of large doors and the stairway cutting up the room. You can get a glimpse of the cherry back parlor through the door at the right.

A small terrace area is in the space just outside the back door - making cool outdoor suppers and lunches enjoyable, everyday occurrence. Old bricks laid in sand form a pleasant floor for this cozy and convenient summertime retreat.

Dining room at other end opf the living room is framed by an arch of books. Same green carpeting used living room is continued into dining area.
