A 1947 Houston home by Architects Talbott Wilson and Irwin Morris

Inspired by a ranch this house threads its way thru tall pines and oaks, blending easily into the attractive landscape. The architects build this home around the old trees.

There are four basic areas, all at the ground level - garage, dining room and kitchen, living room and bedroom wing. The heart of this home is a large central living room. It opens onto a patio in front and onto a screened porch in the back. For warm summer days that will let the breeze in, sliding doors between living and porch roll back. The rear bedroom has a generous wardrobe closet. In the  front bedroom two smaller wardrobe closets are separated by a build-in dressing table with selveson either side.

The short hallway which connects bedrooms and bathrooms holds two closets. In the bathroom you can store towels and washcloths on shelves above the toilet which is separated from the tub by a low partition.

Work space in the kitchen is L-shaped, with room in the opposite corner for a breakfast table, desk or broom closet. The garage is deep wnough so you can install your workbench along the rear wall.
