The Kelvinator was a well known and respected brand of home appliances. In 1914 they pioneered the automatic electric home refrigeration. In 1936 they've introduced the first acorss-the-top Frozen Food Chest and in 1947 they've made the first refrigerators cold clear to the floor.
The new 1950 Kelvinator refrigerator came in 5 variations: MM, TM, VM, FM, RL and RK. While the MM was showcased in the magazine ads it's not showing up in the official 1950 brochure (an in-depth look at it in a future article). Also according to the ads there were 9 models, but only 5 are showcased in the official brochure.
The new MM model came with a 50-lb. frozen food chest, "cold-mist" freshner (for salad, cake and bread) and the cold super crisper drawer (for fruits vegetables and beverages). The front panels and the doors were 100% polystyrene.
