No. 6050—Vertical siding and brick trim have been used to emphasize the beauty of the picture window in this Southern bungalow. The rest of the exterior is of shingle construction. Built over a four-inch concrete slab, this house is suitable for most areas since construction details call for adequate sub-floor insulation and vapor-proofing. The roof is of the built-up type. As both the kitchen and utility room are of generous size there is an abundance of shelf space and work areas are conveniently arranged.

No. 6138—Stone veneer, laid in a random pattern, has been used in the construction of this beautiful six-room suburban home. The floor plan is somewhat flexible to meet varying family requirements. The den, which has a large closet and a half-bath, can be used conveniently as a third bedroom. The rear bedroom has a private bath, but since there is another full bath and a lavatory the owner may prefer to omit this private bath thus enlarging the bedroom to 17 feet, 4 inches in length. French doors open from the dining room to the terrace.

No. 6227—To prospective home owners who are interested in a comfortable home at low cost, this design should have considerable appeal. The plan includes kitchen, living room, dining room, two bedrooms and bath, besides a full roomy basement. Tool storage is provided in the compartment in the garage.

No. 6224—A completely modern interior arrangement has been planned for this distinctive-appearing house constructed of random-laid stone veneer. The flagstone pattern of the terrace is extended into the house to form a hearth. The living-dining room partition is a low shelf that may be used as a bookcase or storage space. The basement is entered through the outside stairway which has a drain at the landing.

No. 6258—Here is a house that is ideally arranged to fit a moderate construction budget. Its simple lines assure economic construction, yet its interior arrangement is such that it provides for comfortable living in a five-room efficiency house. The U-shaped kitchen has ample dining space for ordinary occasions, and the living room is so large that a portion of it can be used for a dining alcove. Glass blocks are used for the wall opening behind the range to admit additional light to the kitchen. The bedrooms are supplied with a generous amount of closet space.
